Key Responsibilities:
Purpose of Role
To ensure the safe, efficient and effective running of the Laboratory to ensure product quality and testing schedules are maintained to the highest standard at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
Production
1. Ensures flake and sheet quality is maintained to the highest level by communicating the flake/sheet test results with the Shift Supervisor / Senior Operator / Sheet line #1 allowing them to react promptly to any non-conformances.
2. Ensures all testing and monitoring procedures are in place and carried out as per correct testing schedules
3. All documentation and information relating to the Laboratory of the machines must be correct and up-to-date at all times.
4. Communicate to Site Management when quality targets have not been achieved and the reason why.
5. Minimise cost where possible by ensuring efficient use of all production consumables.
Health and Safety
1. Ensure SWP’s are adhered to at all times and ensure any problems are reported to the Operations Manager.
2. Ensure the correct PPE is being used at all times, immediately informing the QC and Laboratory Manager or Shift Supervisor of any requirements.
3. Responsible for ensuring all accidents and near misses are correctly reported to Site Management.
4. Ensure all fork lift trucks safety checks are completed in line with site rules.
5. Ensures housekeeping is at the highest standards at all times.
Communication
1. Ensure shift changeovers are managed to ensure continuity of quality, any site issues are communicated, and housekeeping is at the highest standard.
2. Inform Operations Manager of any maintenance issues you require addressed with priority.
3. Liaise with Operations Manager with any Health and Safety issues or Compliance issues as they arise.
Quality
1. Adhere to all quality and test procedures and instructions laid down by the QC Department.
2. Communicate any non-conformances immediately to Site Management.
3. Communicate any issues with bottle and flake sorters immediately to Site Management.
Personnel
1. Promote good communication between all employees.
2. Be proactive in promoting the company to all employees and report any incidents or disagreements affecting the morale of the workforce to Site Management.
General
1. To comply with all company rules, regulations and procedures at all times and promote good working practices throughout the workforce.
