Employment Service Manager – WorkWell
Location: London (Hybrid with travel across the region as required)
Salary: £50,061 - £55,216 per annum
Contract: Permanent

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile WorkWell service across London. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a multidisciplinary team, drive service performance, and build strong partnerships with NHS organisations, commissioners, employers and community stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for ensuring contractual performance, service quality and positive participant outcomes, while providing inspirational leadership to Team Leaders and frontline staff. This role combines operational management, strategic relationship building and continuous service improvement to ensure the successful delivery of an innovative employment and health programme.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of the WorkWell service, ensuring contractual targets, quality standards and customer outcomes are consistently achieved.
Manage, coach and develop Team Leaders and frontline staff, creating a high-performing, motivated and inclusive team.
Monitor service performance using management information and data insights, identifying risks and implementing continuous improvement plans.
Build and maintain effective partnerships with NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), commissioners, referral partners, employers and other key stakeholders.
Lead contract performance reviews and commissioner meetings, providing clear reporting and demonstrating service impact.
Manage operational budgets and resources to ensure financial performance and value for money.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, safeguarding responsibilities, quality standards and organisational policies.
Promote innovation in service delivery to improve participant outcomes and operational effectiveness.
Produce high-quality reports and communicate performance, risks and achievements to a range of stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience managing contracts, services or projects within employment, health, wellbeing or related public services.
Experience leading managers or multidisciplinary teams in a target-driven environment, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop others.
Strong understanding of performance management, quality assurance, compliance and contract delivery.
Knowledge of the impact that physical health, mental health and wider social determinants have on employment and wellbeing.
Experience using management information, performance data and reporting to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and identifying opportunities for collaborative working and service development.
Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
Knowledge of the WorkWell delivery model and experience managing cross-functional or specialist teams would be advantageous.
