The South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) is inviting applications for the role of Communications SPOC (Single Point of Contact) within the Sensitive Intelligence Unit (SIU).

The SIU is a dynamic and highly specialised department at the heart of intelligence-led policing across the South East. Working closely with police forces, ROCU teams and partner agencies, the unit supports operations focused on the highest threat and harm areas, developing and exploiting intelligence from a range of sensitive sources. This includes information obtained through Targeted Intercept (TI) and Targeted Equipment Interference (TEI), helping operational teams identify investigative opportunities, mitigate risks and maximise enforcement outcomes.

As a Communications SPOC, you will be responsible for managing intelligence in support of tasked operations across South East Policing. You will be able to recognise and assess threats to individuals and communities and help provide intelligence that supports the prevention and management of Threats to Life (TTL), helping to safeguard vulnerable people and protect those at risk. Whether identifying intelligence relating to firearms, drugs supply, cash movements, organised immigration crime, or opportunities to locate and identify individuals of interest, your work will directly support operational deployments and help achieve the greatest possible impact for investigations.

You do not need previous experience in this specialist field to apply. Full training and ongoing development opportunities will be provided, enabling you to build the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the role.

This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into the world of Serious and Organised Crime while leading intelligence collection activity against some of the region's highest policing priorities. The work undertaken by the SIU contributes directly to significant operational successes every day.

Due to the high-risk nature of the investigations we support, the SIU operates within a fast-paced and continually evolving environment. The team embraces innovative technology and adapts to meet the increasing complexity and sophistication of organised criminality, ensuring intelligence capabilities remain effective against emerging threats.

As part of the SIU, you will be at the forefront of disrupting organised crime and protecting communities across the South East.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and those studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post
