About the role

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Officer to provide first-line IT support across the organisation. This is a varied role supporting colleagues with day-to-day IT queries, mobile devices, equipment setup, asset management and IT administration.

Working as part of the wider IT function, you will help ensure our IT systems, devices and services operate effectively, supporting staff to resolve basic technical issues and maintain service continuity.

What you will be doing

Providing first-line support to staff, responding to queries and resolving basic technical issues in a timely way.
Assisting with the setup, configuration and maintenance of IT equipment, including tablets and mobile phones.
Supporting mobile phone administration, including allocation, provisioning, upgrades, usage monitoring, record keeping and supplier liaison.
Maintaining accurate IT asset records, inventories, licence information and support documentation.
Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing equipment and coordinating access requirements.
Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to support effective IT service delivery.
Contributing to continuous improvement across IT support processes and administrative systems.

About you

You will be IT literate, organised and confident communicating with a wide range of colleagues. You will be able to manage multiple tasks, keep accurate records and work collaboratively while also using your own initiative.

We would like to hear from you if you have experience providing first-line IT support, setting up mobile devices, maintaining asset inventories, working with data, and liaising with suppliers or service providers. An understanding of health and safety responsibilities, data protection and GDPR principles is also important for this role.

Job Description

Responsible for the day-to-day provision of first-line IT support, mobile device administration, and IT asset management.

Liaison with all employees of HTS, our Shareholder and relevant third parties.

Job Purpose:

The IT Support Officer provides first-line support to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of IT systems, devices and services across the organisation. The role supports staff with IT equipment, systems, and mobile devices, helping to resolve basic technical issues and maintain service continuity.

Principal Accountabilities:

Working as part of the wider IT function, the postholder will assist with the administration of IT assets, support onboarding and offboarding processes, and liaise with colleagues and external suppliers as required. The role requires a proactive, customer-focused approach, ensuring that all activities are carried out in line with organisational policies, including data protection (UK GDPR), information governance, confidentiality, and health & safety requirements.

Duties:

Provide first-line support to staff, responding to queries and resolving basic technical issues in a timely manner.
Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT Mobile equipment (Tablets and Mobile Phones)
Support the administration of mobile phone services, including allocation, provisioning, upgrades, usage monitoring, record keeping, and supplier liaison.
Assist with IT asset management, including maintaining inventories, tracking equipment, and supporting audits.
Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing equipment and coordinating system access.
Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to support the effective delivery of IT services.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for IT assets, licences, and support activities.
Provide general operational and administrative support to the IT function and wider business as required.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT support processes and administrative systems.

Other Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures, including data protection (UK GDPR), information governance, confidentiality, information security, and health & safety requirements.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others affected by their work and cooperate with the organisation on all health and safety matters.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT support processes and ways of working.
Participate in performance reviews and undertake relevant training where necessary.
Be prepared to travel to meetings, training courses and events as required for the role.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role and follow reasonable management instructions as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications, knowledge and technical ability:

IT literate.
Experience providing first line IT support and responding to user queries.
Experience in setting up mobile devices.
Experience in preparing and maintaining asset inventories.
Ability to generate and analyse data.
Ability to liaise with external suppliers or service providers to support IT service delivery.

Communication:

Excellent communication skills.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.

Working with others:

Experience working collaboratively with colleagues.

Ability to work on own initiative.

General:

Understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities.

Understanding of Data Protection and GDPR Principles.
