Coffee Shop Supervisor/Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Head Barista/Supervisor to lead our coffee shop team with passion and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver memorable coffee experiences while managing efficient workflows and fostering a welcoming environment for all guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your barista expertise with supervisory skills to create a customer-focused café atmosphere.

Duties

Supervise daily coffee shop operations, ensuring smooth service flow and adherence to food safety standards
Lead by example in preparing high-quality coffee beverages, utilizing skills in espresso extraction, brewing, and food handling
Train and mentor team members on coffee preparation, POS systems, customer service, and food safety protocols
Manage cashier/till operations.
Oversee inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
Ensure compliance with food industry regulations and health codes through diligent food safety practices
Foster a positive team environment by motivating staff, resolving conflicts promptly, and promoting teamwork
Flexible to work weekends and holidays

Qualifications

Extensive barista experience with proficiency in coffee brewing techniques and beverage customization
Strong supervisory skills with the ability to manage staff schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor performance
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods
Exceptional customer service abilities to create welcoming experiences for diverse guests
Knowledge of food preparation, handling, serving, and safety standards within a café or food service setting
Effective communication skills to train staff and interact confidently with customers
Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
