Job Overview
The Refurbishment Technician will report directly to the Operations Manager and will ensure that residents have the best rental experience and consistently deliver the highest levels of customer service. The refurbishment technician will support in apartment make-ready, various refurbishment tasks along with assisting with specific projects around Dolphin Square
What a day as a Refurbishment Technician could look like:
- Carry out painting, decorating and minor plastering works when required.
- Shifting / assembling furniture or equipment.
- Standard plumbing tasks and clearing blockages.
- Carry out fabric and carpentry repair works.
- Perform daily checks for water treatment and flushing activities.
- To identify and diagnose faults and to carry out repairs, adjustments and other maintenance works as appropriate.
- To carry out the required routine repairs or adjustments of plant or machinery in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule as tasked by the Control Coordinator.
- To adopt a flexible approach in respect of other skills or trades to ensure the most cost-effective completion of all tasks.
- To undertake other skilled tasks in which competence has been demonstrated.
- To record data using the supplied documentation / system apps.
- To assist in ensuring that all working areas are kept clean and tidy, and all refuse and waste materials are removed as appropriate.
- To be thoroughly familiar and comply with the company’s “Health & Safety” policy and procedures and to immediately report any hazards or infringements to the relevant teams.
- To action and complete time/task tickets on a daily basis in accordance with agreed procedures.
- To assist in the supervision of sub-contractors as appropriate.
- To undertake other reasonable duties as requested by line Management.
Must-Haves:
- Previous experience gained in a similar role is essential.
- A relevant professional qualification in decorating / plumbing or carpentry discipline is essential.
- The incumbent should possess good administrative skills and have experience in working within the residential environment.
- An individual who can work effectively with people at all levels and is capable of dealing with contentious and challenging situations.
- An honest and trustworthy individual with an exemplary track record.
- The incumbent must have an appreciation of the importance of customer service and have excellent customer service skills.
Desired (preferred but not essential):
- Experience in the BTR industry and/or housing association.
- Experience managing decant activities in construction, housing projects or similar.
