Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Storeman to join our Operations team. This role is critical to ensuring inventory is received, stored, controlled, and dispatched accurately and efficiently, supporting the company's commitment to delivering products to customers on time and in full.

The successful candidate will take ownership of inventory accuracy, warehouse organisation, stock control processes, and order fulfilment activities. They will work closely with Operations, Sales, Procurement, and Project teams to ensure stock availability and maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and housekeeping.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday (on site )
7:30am – 4:30pm
45-minute lunch break between 12:00pm and 2:00pm

Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Warehouse Management

Receive incoming goods and carry out quality control checks.
Accurately process stock receipts and maintain inventory records.
Ensure stock is stored safely and in the correct locations.
Maintain inventory accuracy across physical stock and ERP systems.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and stock shortages.
Maintain stock identification, location control, and warehouse security.
Support inventory forecasting and replenishment activities.

Order Fulfilment

Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Ensure orders are processed and dispatched in line with customer requirements.
Support operational targets for on-time and complete deliveries.

Systems & Reporting

Maintain accurate ERP system data, including stock levels, locations, reorder points, and transaction records.
Use ERP and Excel tools to support inventory planning, forecasting, and analysis.
Assist with inventory reporting and stock performance monitoring.

Cross-Functional Support

Liaise with Operations, Sales, Procurement, and Project teams to align inventory and warehouse activities with business requirements.
Support purchasing and materials planning processes.
Assist with general operational, administrative, and purchasing duties as required.

Housekeeping & Continuous Improvement

Maintain excellent warehouse housekeeping standards.
Ensure all stock areas remain organised, safe, and efficient.
Identify opportunities to improve inventory control and warehouse processes.

Essential Requirements

Experience in inventory control, stock management, and warehouse operations.
Understanding of inventory governance, stock accuracy, and storekeeping disciplines.
Ability to read and extract materials from drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
Technical aptitude and understanding of products and materials.
Experience managing stock levels and inventory availability.
Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience handling high-volume stock transactions and large SKU ranges.

Desirable Requirements

Experience within a manufacturing, construction, trade, or distribution environment.
Knowledge of hardware, ironmongery, or building products.
Exposure to operations planning and demand forecasting processes.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Timely processing of incoming and outgoing goods.
Accuracy of goods received, including quantity, quality, and documentation.
Inventory availability and stock service levels.
Inventory accuracy and stock variance control.
Warehouse organisation and housekeeping standards.
Support of on-time and in-full order fulfilment targets.

Pay: £38,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
