The Coach House is a specialist Nursing Home that provides care for people with Acquired brain Injury and complex physical Health Needs. The 13-bed home is situated in Grays, Essex. In our care we have residents with both inherited and genetic brain injuries, ranging from, Acquired Head/Brain Injury, Complex Needs, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Impairment Huntington’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Parkinson’s Disease and Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, and other complex physical health needs.
We are currently recruiting for a full time Clinical Lead Nurse on a 40 hours/week contract. You will perform a mixture of office days and nursing shifts to suit service requirements.
Roles and responsibilities
The individual will be responsible for the overall quality and governance of the clinical services delivered by the service. Through oversight of clinical policy development, programming, quality improvement, and staff competencies.
The person will be capable of independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems, facilitating critical incident reviews and staff debriefings.
They act as the clinical go to person for Nurses, the Registered Manager and Support Workers ensuring adherence the regulatory standards of nursing and care.
Governance & Quality
- Liaises with the Registered Manager, CQC and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance is met at all times.
- Develops, reviews, and implements policies and procedures in line with best practice and regulations.
- Leads on health and safety and infection control.
Clinical
- Monitors regulatory and clinical standards; productivity and quality assurance efforts, meet contractual reporting requirements and performance standards.
- Updates, maintains, and complies with Chartwell policies and procedures as it relates to all clinical program operations.
- Oversees clinical supervision of nurses.
- Serves as a member of the Management Team and works collaboratively to ensure all operations are integrated and functioning well.
- Provides overall clinical oversight to assure consistency and continuity in the provision of services.
- Recruits, supervises, trains, coaches, and mentors all clinical staff to achieve established goals.
- Oversees CQC certification site visit preparation, and program audit visits and reports.
- Must have experience and be able to train and carry out Tracheostomy care, including suctioning and changing inner tubes.
- Needs to have an understanding of parental feeding including how to care for PEG & JEG feeding tubes.
Requirements
- Must have Clinical Nursing experience.
- To hold a valid NMC pin.
- Experience of leading a team to deliver and be assessed on regulatory requirements for CQC and the Local Authority.
- To have good attention to detail and be able to identify risk and complete risk assessments.
- Have an understanding of complex physical and neurological health needs.
- Experience of writing and evaluating care plans and risk assessments.
