We’re looking for a passionate and experienced individual to manage our Southend-on-Sea shop. We’re child friendly, dog friendly, and a sugary haven always wanting to go that extra mile for the customer. We’re looking for someone who can lead the team in all aspects of delivering the best experience to every guest at all times, whilst up keeping an immaculate & tidy shop, and a high energy customer focused team.
You’ll need a minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a customer-facing role; full flexibility with working hours as weekend hours will naturally be included, ideally be a cake connoisseur or be willing to become one (very quickly!). Barista experience is ideal.

Responsibilities:
– Everything you can think of! To successfully run our Southend-on-Sea store by taking full responsibility of the smooth running of the shop including stock, team, labour, customers, serving and ensuring all products are to brand standards.
– To be able to manage with integrity, honesty, and the knowledge to promote the culture, values, and mission of Wilma’s Bakery.
– You will be responsible for the profit & loss within the store, and will be responsible for maximising the profits where possible.
– Manage, direct, and coach our shop team to create an accountable, hard-working team, with customer, and product dedication. You will be responsible for driving the energy and passion into your team.
– Oversee and take detailed cake orders, complete the handing over of celebration cakes with precision and care.
– Train, lead, and manage the team to achieve operational goals. You will constantly review the store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
– Regularly exercise initiative for a better working environment, customer experience, or new products.
– Monitor stock levels and place orders as necessary.
– Oversee and prepare light snacks, sandwiches/paninis etc. plating/boxing cake orders as required, as well as making drinks inclusive of milkshakes and coffees (with training provided).
– Observe and comply with all relevant Health & Safety, Hygiene, and Allergen requirements – courses will be provided and completion of these will be essential for any successful applicant.
– Serve customers in a bubbly, efficient, and polite fashion, ensuring the rest of the team are following in your footsteps.
– Keep the shop at the highest standard of cleanliness to ensure the seating area/service is kept immaculate.
– Drive the implementation of company budgets and develop action plans, whilst motivating the team to implement/achieve them.
– Carry out other duties reasonably required by the company directors.
Requirements:
– Experience in retail/restaurant/coffee shop management or supervisory experience.
– The ability to communicate verbally and in writing, along with a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
– The ability to be able to work under pressure with a commercial mind – that’s being able to see the bigger picture and maximise sales opportunities.

Please note this role may require shifts to be worked in our Leigh-on-Sea or Rayleigh shop also.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
