Full job description

Overton Electrical Services Ltd is looking to recruit a reliable and well-organised Stores Supervisor to join our team.

This role is being recruited due to our current Stores Supervisor leaving the company for health reasons. The successful candidate will play an important part in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our stores, fleet, plant, and equipment, helping to ensure our engineers have the materials and resources they need to carry out their work effectively.

The Role

The Stores Supervisor will be responsible for the overall monitoring and organisation of our stores. This will include stock control, receiving deliveries, checking goods in, and preparing materials for engineers to collect for individual jobs.

The role will also involve monitoring the maintenance and general organisation of our fleet of vans, working closely with engineers to carry out regular van stock checks and ensure vehicles remain suitably equipped.

In addition, the successful candidate will carry out regular checks of plant and equipment. Full training will be provided to ensure the correct procedures are followed for maintaining, checking, and monitoring equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include:

Monitoring and maintaining stock levels within the stores
Receiving, checking, and organising deliveries
Preparing and boxing materials for engineers to collect for jobs
Liaising with engineers regarding materials, stock requirements, and van stock
Carrying out regular van stock checks
Supporting the monitoring of fleet maintenance requirements
Carrying out regular checks of plant and equipment
Keeping the stores area clean, organised, and safe
Maintaining accurate records where required
Working efficiently during busy periods, particularly in the mornings when engineers require materials

The Successful Candidate

We are looking for someone who is practical, organised, and able to communicate well with engineers, suppliers, and office staff.

The successful candidate must have:

Excellent communication skills
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to work comfortably under pressure
A proactive and helpful approach
The ability to prioritise tasks during busy periods
A reliable and responsible attitude
A willingness to learn new procedures, including plant and equipment checks

Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, trade counter, electrical, construction, or maintenance environment would be advantageous, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
