Job Overview
Structural Repairs Systems Ltd (SRS) is a rapidly growing specialist contractor delivering structural repair, strengthening, and remediation solutions across the UK.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior Estimator to join our expanding team in Windsor. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing profitable new business opportunities and supporting the continued growth of the company.
This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong technical estimating ability, commercial awareness and the confidence to manage tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission and negotiation.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and pursue new tender opportunities through existing clients, frameworks, planning portals and industry leads.
· Review and assess tender documentation, drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
· Prepare accurate take-offs, pricing schedules and detailed tender submissions.
· Produce comprehensive cost estimates for structural repair, civils and specialist construction works.
· Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and assess value engineering opportunities.
· Prepare and issue subcontract enquiries.
· Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.
· Complete and submit Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and supporting documentation.
· Maintain and develop supplier and subcontractor databases.
· Work closely with Directors and operational teams to develop commercially viable solutions.
· Lead post-tender negotiations and client clarification meetings.
· Ensure all tender submissions are completed accurately and within deadlines.
· Support and mentor junior estimators within the business.
· Assist in improving estimating systems, processes and commercial reporting.
Skills & Experience Required
· Minimum 7 years’ experience in an estimating role within construction, civil engineering or specialist contracting.
· Experience pricing structural repair, remediation, concrete repair, waterproofing or civils projects is highly desirable.
· Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial principles.
· Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
· Strong communication and negotiation skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
· Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively within a team environment.
· Experience managing or mentoring junior team members is preferred.
· Experience in estimating software and/or cost library generation.
Qualifications
· Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or similar discipline preferred.
· RICS/CIOB membership advantageous but not essential.
· Full UK driving licence preferred.
