Quality & Compliance Coordinator

Location: Kidderminster
Salary: £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About Us

We are a leading manufacturer of food packaging solutions, supplying high-quality products to customers across the food and beverage sector. With a strong commitment to quality, safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement, we are seeking an experienced Quality & Compliance Coordinator to drive compliance standards and support operational excellence across our manufacturing facility.

The Role

As a Quality & Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for carrying out quality inspections and monitoring manufacturing processes to ensure all products meet specification requirements. Working closely with production teams, you will identify quality issues, support corrective actions, and help maintain the highest standards of product quality throughout the manufacturing process.

This role is critical in ensuring compliance with customer specifications, quality management systems, and manufacturing standards while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine quality inspections of cups, buckets, lids, and associated products during production.
Perform dimensional, visual, and functional checks in accordance with product specifications.
Monitor production processes and identify deviations from approved standards.
Complete quality documentation accurately and maintain inspection records.
Support line start-ups, changeovers, and product approval processes.
Escalate quality concerns promptly to Production Supervisors and Quality Management.
Assist in the investigation of non-conforming products and support corrective action activities.
Monitor product appearance, weight, dimensions, print quality, and packaging standards.
Carry out sampling and testing activities in line with quality control procedures.
Support traceability and product identification requirements throughout production.
Ensure compliance with GMP, hygiene, housekeeping, and health & safety requirements.
Work with production teams to minimise waste and improve product quality performance.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality-focused projects.
Assist with internal audits and customer quality requirements as required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience in a manufacturing, quality control, inspection, or production environment.
Good attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and quality issues.
Strong numerical and record-keeping skills.
Ability to follow documented procedures and specifications accurately.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and quality improvement.
The ability to work independently and make informed decisions regarding product quality.
Flexibility to work shifts where required.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience within food packaging, (ideally cups, buckets).
Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges, and weighing scales.
Knowledge of quality management systems and quality control procedures.
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Experience completing production or quality documentation.

Desirable

Internal Quality Auditor training.
Understanding of food-contact packaging requirements.
Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques.
Experience working within BRCGS-certified environments.
