The Role:
The Faculty of Science and Health is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Sport Management to contribute as a member of the teaching team to contribute to the delivery and design of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes responding to students’ needs. The successful candidate will be located in the School of Psychology, Sport and Health Sciences, within the Faculty of Science and Health.
All activities (education, research, innovation) within the School strategically align to our world leading research themes and centres: Culture, Behaviour, Inclusivity and Governance; Quality of Life, Health and Wellbeing; Extreme Environments and Occupational Performance; Physical Activity, Health and Rehabilitation; Centre for Comparative and Evolutionary Psychology; International Centre for Research in Forensic Psychology; Centre for Interaction, Development and Diversity; Dog Cognition Centre, and Centre for Integrated Health and Wellbeing Research.
The School currently offers a range of taught courses including the following in the area of Sport Management: BSc (Hons) Sport Management; BSc (Hons) Global Sport Management (a dual degree in partnership with Edith Cowan University); BSc (Hons) Sport Management (Top Up); and MSc Sport Management, and a variety of research degrees (MRes, MPhil, PhD, Professional Doctorate) and has several UK and international educational partnerships. In addition to the campus-based courses, the School has a suite of partnership courses with: Premier League; The Professional Footballers Association; Institute of Optimal Nutrition; and International Management and Sports College, Singapore.
You will have skills and expertise that complements and/or extends that of the existing research centres/themes, specifically the Culture, Behaviour, Inclusivity and Governance theme. The postholder will also be expected to contribute to income generation from research and/or innovation activities and the publication of high-quality outputs.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of the broad area of sport management, but we are particularly interested in applicants who have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Sport Law
- Data Analytics
- Sport Marketing
- Quantitative Research Methods
Applicants with expertise in other relevant areas of sport management will still be considered.
The successful candidate would participate in teaching, scholarship, research / innovation in accordance with the School and Faculty objectives. They would actively seek to enhance the student experience and student employability and enterprise opportunities in addition to supporting the School in its marketing, outreach and widening participation activities.
This position is full time, working on-site only, so we are unable to support hybrid working for this appointment.

Salary Information:
New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
