Job Description: Painter, Decorator & General Handyman

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Painter, Decorator, and General Handyman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for painting, decorating, maintenance, and general repair work for residential and commercial properties. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to complete tasks efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, patching, filling, and priming.
Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, and fixtures.
Perform interior and exterior decorating work to a high standard.
Carry out general handyman duties such as:
Minor carpentry repairs
Basic plumbing fixes
Light electrical maintenance
Tile repairs
Furniture assembly
Fixture and fitting installations
Inspect properties and identify maintenance or repair needs.
Use and maintain tools and equipment safely.
Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Communicate professionally with clients, tenants, and team members.
Complete work within deadlines and maintain quality standards.

Requirements

Proven experience in painting, decorating, or general maintenance work.
Good knowledge of repair techniques and building maintenance.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physically fit and capable of lifting and manual work.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
Flexible and dependable attitude.

Preferred Skills

Experience in residential or commercial property maintenance.
Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
Ability to read basic work orders or maintenance instructions.
Customer service skills and professional appearance.
