About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Frontline Cleaning Inspector / Quality Auditor to inspect cleaning standards and support service quality across our client sites in London and the South.
This is a practical, field-based role for someone with solid experience of inspecting commercial cleaning services in live operational environments. You will regularly visit sites, inspect the quality of cleaning work, review compliance with cleaning schedules and specifications, identify service failures and work with operational teams to ensure corrective action is completed.
The role requires a strong understanding of frontline cleaning operations, including the ability to assess whether cleaning tasks have been completed correctly, consistently and safely.
This position would suit an experienced cleaning auditor, cleaning inspector, quality manager, cleaning operations manager or cleaning supervisor with direct responsibility for quality inspections across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed scheduled and unannounced cleaning inspections across client sites.
- Assess frontline cleaning standards against client specifications, cleaning schedules, service-level agreements and company KPIs.
- Inspect areas such as offices, washrooms, kitchens, communal spaces, entrances, high-touch points and other site-specific facilities.
- Identify poor cleaning standards, missed tasks, recurring service failures and areas requiring immediate corrective action.
- Review whether agreed cleaning frequencies, methods and standards are being followed.
- Check the correct use, storage and condition of cleaning chemicals, equipment, machinery and materials.
- Monitor compliance with COSHH requirements, risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Review staffing deployment, cleaning schedules and operational arrangements where these affect service quality.
- Assess general site presentation, including external and grounds areas where relevant.
- Take clear and accurate evidence of audit findings, including photographs where appropriate.
- Produce professional audit reports with scores, observations, corrective actions and recommendations.
- Discuss findings confidently with cleaners, supervisors, site managers, operations managers and clients.
- Agree realistic corrective actions and completion deadlines with operational teams.
- Follow up outstanding actions and verify that required improvements have been completed.
- Identify recurring issues, training needs and opportunities to improve cleaning methods or service delivery.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, audit documentation and performance data.
- Travel regularly across London and the South.
Essential Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Substantial practical experience within the commercial cleaning industry.
- Direct experience of carrying out frontline cleaning inspections, quality audits or cleaning-standard assessments.
- A strong understanding of professional cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals and service-delivery standards.
- The ability to recognise poor workmanship, missed cleaning tasks and underlying operational issues.
- Experience auditing cleaning services against specifications, schedules, KPIs or service-level agreements.
- Good knowledge of cleaning-related health and safety requirements, including COSHH, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Experience producing clear audit reports and recording evidence accurately.
- Confidence in challenging poor standards professionally and constructively.
- Experience supporting corrective actions and following them through to completion.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent, objective approach.
- Good communication and relationship-management skills.
- The ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- Competence in Microsoft Office or similar reporting systems.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable Experience
Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:
- Multi-site commercial cleaning operations.
- Cleaning services within corporate, education, healthcare, retail, public-sector or high-footfall environments.
- Supervising or managing frontline cleaning teams.
- Formal cleaning-quality inspection systems or scoring frameworks.
- Client-facing cleaning audits and service-review meetings.
- Facilities management or integrated site-services contracts.
- Inspecting external areas or basic grounds-maintenance standards.
What We Offer
- Salary of £36,000 per annum.
- Full-time, permanent employment.
- 40 hours per week.
- Flexible working arrangements.
- A field-based role covering London and the South.
- The opportunity to influence cleaning quality and service improvement across multiple sites.
- A supportive working environment.
- The opportunity to work closely with operational teams and help improve frontline cleaning performance.
About You
You will be an experienced cleaning professional who understands what excellent frontline cleaning looks like in practice.
You will be comfortable inspecting sites in detail, identifying issues that may not be immediately obvious and explaining clearly why a standard has not been met. You will be confident discussing findings with both frontline employees and senior operational colleagues.
You will be fair, consistent and objective, while remaining firm about the standards required. You will also understand that an effective audit is not simply about identifying problems—it is about establishing the cause, agreeing practical corrective actions and confirming that improvements are sustained.
As this is a field-based role, you must be comfortable working independently, managing your schedule and travelling regularly between client sites.
How to Apply
Please apply with your CV and include details of your direct experience in:
- Commercial cleaning operations.
- Frontline cleaning inspections or quality audits.
- Multi-site cleaning services.

- COSHH and cleaning-related health and safety.
- Producing audit reports and managing corrective actions.
Applications that do not demonstrate relevant frontline cleaning inspection or auditing experience may not be progressed.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
