Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and organised Part-time Cashier/Sales Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing transactions efficiently, and supporting sales through effective merchandising and upselling techniques. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be bilingual in English and Spanish, and demonstrate the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop retail experience while contributing to a welcoming shopping atmosphere.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases in a professional manner
Operate the cash register accurately and handle cash, card, and mobile payments
Provide information about products and services, answering customer queries effectively
Maintain organised merchandising displays to enhance product visibility and appeal
Upsell additional products or services to maximise sales opportunities
Ensure the sales area is clean, tidy, and well-stocked at all times
Manage queues during busy periods with excellent phone etiquette when necessary
Assist in stock organisation and inventory management tasks
Support team members with various store responsibilities as required

Qualifications

Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
Organised with excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanour
Multilingual or bilingual abilities are considered a significant asset
Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail
Reliable with good punctuality and time management skills
