Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. You must be available to work at our breakfast club session 8am - 9am and after school club session 3pm - 6pm, Monday - Friday during school term time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during playtime activities. This role involves supervising children, organising activities, and fostering positive social interactions. The Play Worker will play a vital part in supporting children's development and ensuring their wellbeing in a childcare setting.

Duties

Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety at all times
Organise and facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development
Support children in developing their communication skills through interactive play
Maintain a clean and organised play area, adhering to health and safety standards
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
Support children with special needs or behavioural challenges as required

Experience

Previous experience working with children in childcare, nursery or early childhood education settings is highly desirable
Demonstrated management and leadership skills in supervising groups of children or young people
Knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood development principles, and childcare setting routines
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Experience working with diverse groups of children and understanding of inclusive practices
