Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Bar Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee and refreshments in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a welcoming experience and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality sector whilst working in a lively, community-focused environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages according to company standards
Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
Maintain cleanliness of the counter, equipment, and surrounding areas throughout the shift
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during busy periods
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required
Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during peak hours
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to create a safe environment for colleagues and customers

Experience

Previous barista experience or work within a food service environment is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety standards is desirable
Experience in serving customers with excellent communication skills is advantageous
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately are necessary
Ability to manage time efficiently during busy periods to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
