Fixed Term Contract for 3 years

Youth Connect South West (YCSW) is seeking a Chair of Trustees to join our Board at an exciting and important time for the organisation.

The Chair of Trustees provides valuesled leadership to the Board, ensuring strong governance, strategic clarity and effective oversight. This is a nonexecutive, voluntary role, focused on governance, leadership and accountability rather than daytoday operational management.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and fellow trustees, the Chair plays a central role in shaping the organisation’s strategic direction, supporting and holding the CEO, and Senior Leadership Team, to account. The Chair’s role is to ensure that the Board operates effectively, transparently and collaboratively. The Chair also acts as an ambassador for YCSW, representing the organisation externally, where appropriate.

We currently have a Chair of Trustees in post and are planning a supported handover period with the new Chair to ensure continuity, confidence and a smooth transition for the organisation and Board.

This role would suit someone with experience of boardlevel leadership, or senior governance, who is motivated to use their skills to support a valuesled youth charity working with, and alongside, children and young people.
