Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and organised Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills and a commitment to food safety. In this role you will be responsible for helping oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, while fostering a positive and productive environment for your team.

Duties

Help lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Adhere to and maintain company menu specifications, aligning with our other Herd locations.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management skills.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage food costs effectively.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and enhance the overall dining experience.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role within a restaurant setting.
Demonstrated ability to help supervise and manage a diverse team effectively.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in both food presentation and kitchen management.
