Full job description

Job Summary

Wheal Jane Limited is looking to appoint an organised, professional and personable individual to join our team as a Weighbridge Operator/Administrator.

The role is an important part of our day-to-day site operations and would suit someone who enjoys a varied position combining customer contact, administration, and basic accounting responsibilities.

The Role

Weighing incoming and outgoing HGVs delivering materials to site.
Weighing vehicles purchasing our recycled aggregates.
Accurately recording and maintaining weighbridge transactions and associated paperwork.
Dealing with hauliers, customers, suppliers, and visitors both face-to-face and by telephone.
Working alongside our onsite partners, with whom we share certain administrative functions.
Carrying out general office and administrative duties.
Assisting with basic accounting functions, including invoicing and timesheet allocation.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all weighbridge documentation is completed correctly.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and confident dealing with people. the successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and be comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider team.

You will need to:

Have excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Be confident communicating with customers, hauliers, and visitors both on the telephone and face-to-face.
Have good attention to detail and take pride in accurate record keeping.
Be comfortable handling paperwork and basis accounting tasks.
Have a professional and smart appearance.
Be computer literate and able to learn and use relevant systems.
Have a positive and helpful approach to dealing with customers and colleagues.

Previous experience in a weighbridge, transport, quarrying, aggregates or similar environment would be advantageous, but a willingness to learn and a good attitude are equally important.

Salary & Benefits

Starting salary: £29,000.00 per annum, based on a 42.5 hour working week, with a salary review in April.

Our benefits package includes:

30 days' annual leave, including Bank Holidays
3/5% employer pension contribution - 0.5% above the statutory minimum.
