Job Title: CCTV & Security Systems Network Engineer

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced CCTV & Security Systems IP Networking Engineer with strong hands-on experience in physical security systems and networking infrastructure.
This position requires a technically strong and hands-on engineer with practical experience in CCTV systems, access control, IP networking, and system integration. The role will involve participation throughout the full project lifecycle including technical site surveys, system installation, commissioning, integration, troubleshooting, and support for future upgrade and expansion projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Deploy Security Systems: Plan, configure, and deploy security solutions, including CCTV systems, access control systems, and intrusion detection systems tailored to client needs.
- Local Area Networking: Ensure seamless integration of physical security systems into client LAN environments, including VLAN configuration and troubleshooting any networking issues related to these systems.
- Configuration of Networking Equipment: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network switches and routers supporting security infrastructure, including HP switch environments and management platforms such as HP IMC / IME.
- System Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation, configure, and commission CCTV systems and access control systems including door controllers, readers, and associated devices, ensuring full operational functionality and system integration.
- Site Surveys & Technical Design: Carry out detailed site surveys, assess existing security and network infrastructure, and prepare technical specifications and design recommendations for system upgrades and new installations.
- PSIM & System Integration: Support integration and operation of PSIM platforms such as Genetec or similar systems, , ensuring effective management of CCTV and access control within integrated security systems.
- CAD & Documentation: Create, update, and modify AutoCAD drawings for CCTV, access control, and integrated security systems. Maintain accurate technical documentation including system designs, configurations, and as-built records for compliance and future reference.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand operational requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure security systems are designed, installed, and delivered to required standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in designing, deploying, and supporting CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
- Strong hands-on experience in IP CCTV installation, commissioning, and fault finding
- Experience installing and commissioning access control systems, including door controllers and associated hardware
- Good understanding of integrated security system environments and system interconnectivity
- Strong practical knowledge of IP networking principles relating to security infrastructure
- Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting managed network switches
- Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, and IP-based security device integration
- Ability to conduct technical site surveys and assess existing security infrastructure
- Experience using AutoCAD to create, update, and modify security system drawings
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently on-site and manage technical tasks efficiently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in physical security or network engineering (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), or similar). However, hands-on CCTV and security systems experience will be more important than certifications alone
- CCTV installation or security systems certifications would be an advantage
- Strong experience with access control systems, including installation and commissioning of door controllers and related hardware
- Experience with PSIM platforms (e.g., Genetec or similar integrated security management systems) would be highly beneficial
- Experience with public sector or heritage sector security infrastructure would be an advantage
- Knowledge of advanced security solutions (e.g., IP CCTV systems, biometric systems, advanced surveillance technologies)
- Good understanding of physical security systems design principles, IP networking concepts, and system integration
Working Hours & Conditions:
- Full time role (minimum 40 Hours) has a potential for overtime based on projects
- All the work is client based which requires site visits to different client locations with no provision to work remotely or working from home.
