Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar/Restaurant Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our busy pub and restaurant in Tynemouth, Gibraltar Rock. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for excellent service, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a dedicated team, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with previous supervisory or managerial experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of bar and restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
Manage team schedules, delegate tasks, and provide ongoing training to enhance team performance.
Monitor service delivery to ensure excellent customer experiences, addressing any issues promptly.
Enforce food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the establishment.
Assist with food production when necessary, including preparation and plating of dishes.
Maintain stock levels, place orders for supplies, and oversee inventory control.
Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety regulations, and company policies.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and hospitality excellence.

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong team management and leadership capabilities.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
Experience in serving, barista work, or culinary roles is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
Good communication skills to liaise with staff and guests confidently.
Familiarity with food production processes and kitchen operations.
Previous hotel or bar experience will be considered an advantage.
A passion for hospitality with a focus on delivering outstanding guest service. This role is ideal for motivated professionals eager to lead a team in a lively environment while ensuring exceptional standards are met at all times.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
