Remote | Game Development | Railway Simulation

The Role – Station Modeller (Train Simulator)

All Aboard Studios is looking for a talented 3D Artist specialising in station modelling to join our remote team and contribute to high-quality route development for a well known Train Simulator game.

As an official third-party developer for the publisher, we create detailed and accurate stations across the UK rail network, combining real-world references, photogrammetry, and game-ready optimisation. Your work will directly shape the player experience, from bustling city termini to remote rural halts.

If you have a passion for railway architecture, strong skills in modular asset creation, and experience in Unreal Engine 4.26, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Create accurate and optimised 3D models of UK railway stations based on photogrammetry, survey data, and reference photography.
Model modular components such as platforms, buildings, canopies, footbridges, signage, and station furniture for reuse across projects.
Apply and adjust materials using Unreal Engine 4.26, with attention to both performance and realism.
Collaborate closely with environment artists, technical leads, and QA to ensure seamless station integration into full routes.
Use Perforce source control to manage files and maintain version consistency with the wider team.

Requirements

✅ 2+ years of experience in 3D modelling for games or real-time visualisation
✅ Proficiency in Blender or 3ds Max
✅ Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 4.26, especially material setup and mesh optimisation
✅ Ability to model realistic structures efficiently using modular workflows
✅ Understanding of UK railway station architecture and design standards (or willingness to learn)
✅ Experience working in a remote team and managing deliverables to schedule
✅ Familiarity with Perforce or a willingness to learn it quickly

Bonus Skills

⭐ Previous work on railway or simulation projects
⭐ Experience with photogrammetry-based modelling
⭐ Understanding of technical constraints in UE4 for consoles and PC
