Hours: Two part-time positions available
- Position 1: 23 hours per week
- Position 2: 24.5 hours per week
Hours will be worked across Monday to Friday, with a variety of shifts allocated on specific days depending on the vacancy and service needs. Shift patterns will be discussed at interview.
Salary: Competitive and dependent on qualifications, experience and training status.

Wallingford Medical Practice is looking to recruit two enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our busy dispensary team.
We welcome applications from:
- Qualified Dispensers
- Individuals interested in undertaking Dispenser training
- Candidates wishing to complete a Dispensary Apprenticeship

About the Role
As a member of our dispensary team, you will play an important role in supporting the safe and efficient dispensing of medicines to our patients. Working closely with GPs, nurses and colleagues, you will help ensure that prescriptions are processed accurately and that patients receive a high-quality service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing and dispensing prescriptions accurately and safely in accordance with practice procedures and NHS regulations.
- Checking medicines and appliances against authorised prescriptions.
- Maintaining accurate dispensing records using computer systems.
- Managing dispensary stock levels and helping minimise waste.
- Ensuring medicines are stored correctly, including refrigerated items.
- Supporting prescription charge collection and associated administrative processes.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and health and safety within the dispensary.
- Working in accordance with confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding requirements.
- Providing a friendly, professional and helpful service to patients and colleagues.
- Participating in training, audits and continuous quality improvement activities.

Previous dispensing experience is desirable but not essential for trainee or apprenticeship applicants, as full training and support will be provided.
