Part-Time Website Designer Role Overview We are looking for a creative and detail-focused Website Designer to join our team on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week. The role will involve designing and building attractive, user-friendly websites using WordPress, primarily with the Divi page builder, as well as creating 2D website and interface designs in Figma. This position would suit someone who has a strong eye for layout, typography, branding and user experience, and who can turn ideas into polished, responsive web pages. Key Responsibilities * Design and build websites and web pages using WordPress and Divi. * Create 2D website designs, wireframes, layouts and visual concepts in Figma. * Translate approved Figma designs into responsive WordPress pages. * Work with existing brand guidelines to create consistent, professional website designs. * Update and maintain existing WordPress websites, including page layouts, images, text and calls to action. * Ensure websites are mobile-friendly, visually consistent and easy to navigate. * Optimise pages for good user experience, including clear structure, spacing, readability and conversion-focused layouts. * Work with internal teams to understand project requirements, target audiences and design goals. * Liaise with content, marketing and development colleagues where needed. * Carry out basic quality checks across desktop, tablet and mobile views. * Support improvements to landing pages, service pages, blog layouts and campaign pages. * Manage assigned design and build tasks efficiently within agreed timelines. Support clients with existing website enquiries Required Skills and Experience * Experience designing and building websites using WordPress. * Good working knowledge of the Divi page builder. * Experience creating website layouts and 2D designs in Figma. * Strong understanding of responsive design for desktop, tablet and mobile. * Good eye for visual design, including spacing, hierarchy, typography and colour. * Ability to follow brand guidelines and apply them consistently. * Comfortable editing website content, images, buttons, forms and page sections. * Understanding of basic UX principles and how users navigate websites. * Good attention to detail and ability to check work before publishing. * Ability to manage time effectively while working part-time. * Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with internal teams. Desirable Skills * Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. * Experience with landing page design and conversion-focused layouts. * Understanding of website accessibility best practice. * Familiarity with SEO basics, such as headings, metadata, image alt text and page structure. * Experience using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva. * Experience working with marketing teams, agencies or client-facing website projects. * Basic understanding of website performance, image optimisation and page speed. * Experience with forms, integrations, plugins and WordPress maintenance. The ideal candidate will be confident using Figma to create clean, professional website concepts, and then building those designs in WordPress using Divi.
