Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with a solid background in early childhood education. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while fostering effective communication with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Lead and support a team of childcare professionals, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
Develop and implement educational programmes that cater to the developmental needs of children.
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
Be the SENCO
Organise staff training sessions to enhance skills in childcare and early childhood education.
Oversee the nursery's budget, resources, and facilities to ensure they meet the needs of children and staff.
Conduct regular assessments of children's development and implement strategies for improvement as needed.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for children by adhering to health and safety regulations.

Experience

Proven experience in management within a nursery or similar childcare setting is essential.
Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and motivation.
Experience working directly with children, demonstrating an understanding of their needs and behaviours.
A background in early childhood education is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with parents, staff, and external agencies.
