We are looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join our team in Wakefield.
This is a full time role.
07:30 - 19:30 weekdays and weekends.
£13.95 per hour
Gateholme is set in the lovely countryside surroundings of Carr Gate, in Wakefield. Our home offers residential support for 39 people with a variety of needs, including individuals with a learning disability, autistic people, and those with complex needs. Our homes support people with a variety of different needs and our team are dedicated to viewing each person as an individual and supporting them on a person-centred basis to create and achieve goals to meet their own expectation, to have the best life possible and to be as independent as possible.
It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of our residents and tenants. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Supervise and support a team in the delivery of person centred care. Encouraging people to live as independently as possible, while supporting them in building their life skills and achieving goals at their own pace

Supporting tenants in a person centred way, which can include assisting with personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living skills, including maintenance of their tenancy

Acting as a positive role model providing supervision, guidance and professional development

Planning of staff shifts and rotas and completing daily administration of electronic and paper records with the involvement of the individual as appropriate

Supporting staff and the individual in maintaining their health and wellbeing, which may involve liaising with other specialists

Supporting the team in encouraging the individual’s participation and integration in the local community, through activities and interests that meet their ambitions and help them achieve outcomes in their chosen way

Promoting an innovative approach to work and a positive culture, embedding the REACH standards in everyday practice

Ensuring all colleagues comply with company policies and procedures
