Production Lead / Operator

ThePetFoodPeople® - Porth Factory

We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on person to take ownership of day-to-day production line in a small but growing nutrition manufacturing site.

You’ll be responsible for making sure production runs properly each day, from set-up through to finished product; and that standards are maintained across the site.

The Role

Run daily production (blending, packing, labelling, preparation)
Ensure products are made correctly and consistently
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene (GMP)
Work to SOPs and processes for start-up, changeover and cleandown
Operate manual and automated lines, including CCPs (such as metal detection, checkweighing, date coding)
Keep the production area organised and under control
Flag any issues early (materials, quality, process)
Work closely with QC and despatch to ensure orders can be dispatched on time

This is a physical, hands-on role. Work can be dusty at times and you’ll be lifting bags (up to 30kg) and loading mixers. You’ll be on your feet for most of the day, sometimes with more repetitive work. This suits someone who is practical and comfortable working in a production environment.

Is calm, reliable, and consistent
Previous experience in a food production environment is required (HACCP / hygiene awareness expected)

This is a structured role with responsibility. This role operates on a shift pattern of Monday and Friday (4 hour shift), and Tuesday to Thursday (10 hour shifts - 8am until 6pm). 34 to 38 hours a week. This role has no overnight or weekend shift patterns.
