Bedwen Plants

Location - Henllan, Ceredigion, SA44 5TD

Contract - Full-time Seasonal Contract. Immediate start May 2026 until end September 2026. Potential to extend the contract to a permanent position depending on the businesses needs.

Hours - 37.5 Hours

Days - Wednesday to Sunday

Pay - National Minimum Wage

Start Date - ASAP May 2026

We are recruiting for a Plant Nursery & Garden Centre Assistant to join our team at Bedwen Plants!

What is the role?

We are looking for a Nursery Assistant to join our busy team. The main position will be based around working with plants and processing our online orders for dispatch. As a small team we need people who are willing to undertake any duties that may be required. We always aim to offer team members a variety of work to broaden their knowledge and skills.

The role will include;

Working as part of a fast-paced team at our onsite nursery & garden centre
Assisting with all aspects of plant care such as watering, feeding, pruning, potting & weeding
Ensuring plants are properly labelled, stored and stocked
General maintenance around the nursery such as clearing and tidying, including maintaining standards of your work area/bench
Selecting stock for orders, order checking and labeling, preparation of plants for packing, packing of orders, and preparing orders for onward dispatch
Helping with the garden centre shop & offering quality customer service

Our ideal candidate will be;

Able to work alone and remain motivated whilst completing repetitive tasks
Able to work effectively as part of the team
Someone who enjoys and can work in a methodical way
Willing to work outside & in polytunnels in all weather conditions
Able to communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of daily procedures
Someone with a passion for plants and gardening

Your knowledge and skills;

Experience with horticulture is desirable, though an interest in plants and willingness to learn is the most essential
The ability to speak Welsh is not required for this position though could also be beneficial
High standards and quality in all processes is essential
