Our client is currently looking for an experienced Plater / Fabricator to join their growing manufacturing team on a permanent basis.

The Role
As a Plater / Fabricator, your responsibilities will include:
- Accurately cutting, grinding, and marking out a wide variety of materials including sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel, and angle
- Performing basic MIG and MMA tack welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
- Completing final assembly work to produce high-quality finished products
- Marking out cylinders, nozzle locations, brackets, and attachments
- Cutting holes using propane/acetylene and plasma torches
- Producing templates for various shapes and fabrication profiles
- Joining cylinders using temporary attachments, chain blocks, and associated equipment
- Preparing weld bevels on cylinders and pipework
- Tacking together pipes and flanges ready for welding
- Working safely at all times and following site PPE and safety procedures
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Plater / Fabricator within heavy engineering or manufacturing
- Experience working with pressure vessels, pipework, or structural steelwork
- The ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings accurately
- Good mathematical skills including fractions and decimals
- Experience using workshop machinery and equipment such as horizontal saws, pillar drills, rotators, manipulators, and cranes
- A strong understanding of workplace health & safety standards
- Confidence working at height and within confined spaces
Forklift training or certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
Working Hours
- 39 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Early finish on Fridays
