Role Summary:
As a Stock Accountant, you will be responsible for reporting and performing analysis on our stock on our SAP system, performing periodic & weekly reconciliations to support the finance team with period-end and audit queries, as well as ensuring a successful and timely period-end close.
On top of this, the candidate will support the finance business partners with variance reporting and analysis, whilst developing a key understanding of the GL postings of these variances. They will also support the FBP’s with weekly/monthly reporting, with an opportunity to develop their own business partnering skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain robust controls & reporting for all costs of sales, Excise/CCT and overhead elements in the inventory value
- Ensure all packaging, bulk and finished goods stock is accurately recorded, reconciled and valued
- Support external inventory control processes, including audits and physical stock counts
- Periodic journal postings of stock provisions for all material components
- Weekly reconciliations of stock holdings to support our finance manager in managing the funding lenders
- Manage returnable packaging costs and ensure correct period-end settlement reporting
- Perform routine material standard cost reviews and periodic SAP standard cost updates
- Develop and deliver variance reporting and KPI analysis across the Operations functions
- Develop and deliver a robust process for monitoring and controlling the obsolete stock process, working with the FBP’s
- Support our warehouse team with costings for stock adjustments and destroyed stock.
- Delivering Key reports to support our FBP’s
The Candidate:
- Part Qualified or Relevant Degree
- Experience working within a finance function (Stock experience desirable)
- SAP experience is desirable but not essential
- Proficient in Excel for data analysis and reconciliations
