Full job description

ACCOUNTABLE TO:

Ø Head Chef

Ø Registered Manager(s)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To support the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation at all times. Duties primarily involve cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas and equipment, but may also include assisting with basic food preparation as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To wash dishes and kitchen utensils. To fill, operate and empty the dishwasher as required.

2. To perform all tasks within Food Safety and Hygiene and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines.

3. To ensure that the kitchen and food storage areas are left clean and tidy

4. To undertake other duties, as necessary. Can be, but not limited to, basic food preparations

5. Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any faults immediately. If any machine is felt to be dangerous/faulty, withdraw it from service immediately

6. Be responsible for understanding health and safety requirements

7. Be clean, hygienic and well presented at all times

8. Any incidents or accidents to be reported to the Head Chef, and appropriately recorded and actioned

9. Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service

10. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring all goods are checked for quality and stored correctly in accordance with food safety regulations.

11. Support waste management and recycling, ensuring correct disposal of food waste and packaging in line with environmental and company policies.

12. Work collaboratively with kitchen and care staff, maintaining a positive and professional attitude to support teamwork and smooth service.

Pay: £13.25 per hour
