Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our independent small friendly nursery located in RG4. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, supporting their development and learning in a nurturing environment, we pride ourselves in caring for staff well being and promoting a calm working environment (where possible). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality childcare, ensuring a safe and stimulating atmosphere for children aged from birth to five years.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to the individual needs of children, promoting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
Supervise children during play, meal times, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines in accordance with setting policies
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork
Support the management team in organising daily operations within the nursery setting
Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming environment that adheres to health and safety regulations
Contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery’s curriculum and policies
Assist with driving responsibilities if required for outings or errands related to nursery activities

Qualifications

Hold a valid Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Childhood Education recognised within the UK
Proven experience working with young children within a nursery or similar setting
Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to guide junior staff when necessary - desirable not essential but there is room to grow and progress to senior roles for the right candidate
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written - must hold GCSE level c/4 or above in English and/or functional skills
Knowledge of current childcare legislation and best practice guidelines
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and independence
A caring attitude with genuine enthusiasm for working with children

Ideal candidates will require an enhanced DBS (a new one can be obtained if a valid one on the update service is not in place), this role is excluded from the rehabilitation of offenders act.

Pay: £24,500.00-£32,000.00 per year
