Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent organisational skills, and a background in retail or sales management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our organisation by supporting daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The Assistant Manager will play a vital part in maintaining a positive work environment and driving sales growth through effective team management and merchandising strategies.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning.
Supervise and motivate team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Assist in managing sales targets, analysing performance metrics, and implementing strategies to maximise revenue.
Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service, demonstrating excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
Oversee merchandising activities to ensure displays are attractive, organised, and aligned with brand standards.
Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling staff shifts, maintaining stock levels, and preparing reports.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Assist in training new staff members and conducting performance evaluations.
Support promotional activities and organise events to enhance store visibility within the community.

Qualifications

Proven management or supervisory experience within retail or sales environments.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail and time management.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to facilitate communication with diverse customer bases.
Demonstrated experience in merchandising, sales management, and administrative duties.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, including professional phone etiquette.
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Previous experience in retail management or related fields is preferred but not essential; relevant management training will be provided for suitable candidates. This role is integral to our organisation’s success, offering an engaging environment where leadership qualities are valued and developed. Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
