Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Tyre Fitter/Workshop Assistant to join our busy automotive workshop. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in automotive maintenance and customer service, providing hands-on experience in tyre fitting, basic vehicle repairs, and workshop support. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop, assisting with tyre replacements, vehicle maintenance, and customer interactions. Prior experience is not essential, as training will be provided, but a keen interest in mechanical work and a proactive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

Assist with tyre fitting and removal using hand tools and power tools, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Support the workshop team with routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, and basic repairs.
Use hand tools and power tools to carry out maintenance work on vehicles.
Assist customers with enquiries and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
Perform heavy lifting of tyres and vehicle parts safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment to ensure safety standards are met.
Support the team in stock management, including ordering and organising parts and tools.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Requirements

Mechanical knowledge or an interest in automotive repair is desirable but not essential.
Experience using hand tools and power tools is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 25kg).
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanour.
Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training as required.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Basic understanding of workshop safety procedures.
Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not mandatory.
