Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen interest in creating delicious pastries and desserts. This role requires a commitment to food safety and quality, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to during the preparation and cooking processes.
Assist in the planning and creation of new dessert menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and communicate needs to management for reordering.
Participate in training new kitchen staff on pastry techniques and food safety practices.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Proficient in various baking techniques and methods, with experience in pastry production.
Ability to work effectively within a team in a restaurant or culinary setting.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring high-quality presentation of all baked goods.
Creative flair for developing new recipes and adapting traditional ones for modern tastes.
Strong time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
