Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our butchery team as a counter butcher. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of food production and preparation, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in butchery practices, with experience in butchery and retail environments. The position is part time but may lead to a full time role and initially is 30hrs over 4 days, Wednesday thru Saturday

Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of meat products according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in the butchery process, ensuring proper techniques are followed for meat preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area, adhering to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient food production and counter service during peak times.
Monitor product quality and presentation before serving to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Proven experience in butchery or counter roles, preferably within a butchery shop setting.
knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
Experience in butchery is highly desirable, as is experience of counter service and use of tills/scales.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional saturdays mornings as required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour
