Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team of student accommodation cleaners on a temporary basis until 30th September 2026. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential cleaning and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. As a Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming for our new tenants.

Duties

Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including bedrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces.
Dust, mop, sweep, and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness.
Clean and sanitise surfaces, fixtures, and equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Follow established cleaning procedures and protocols to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and notify management when stock is low.
Adhere to health and safety regulations while performing cleaning tasks.

Requirements

Previous experience in student accommodation cleaning is preferred but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting or moving items.
Excellent communication skills for reporting issues or collaborating with team members.
A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Full-time hours are Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm (37.5 hours per week)

Part-time applications are also welcome

Temporary until 30th September 2026

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Kingston upon Hull HU6 7SX: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Cleaning: 2 years (required)

Work Location: In person
