Overview
We are seeking a skilled Folder - Press Break operator to join our Folding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating press brake machinery to accurately form sheet metal components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and experience working with fabrication tools and techniques. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment focused on precision and quality in metal fabrication processes.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machinery to produce specified bends/folds in sheet metal components according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Measure and mark sheet metal to ensure precise bends, utilising basic maths skills.
- Select appropriate tooling and adjust machine settings for different materials and bend angles.
- Monitor the operation of the press brake during production runs, ensuring consistent quality throughout the process.
- Use hand tools and tooling equipment safely and efficiently to complete fabrication tasks.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications before final assembly or delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience working with sheet metal fabrication processes, particularly using press brake machinery.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques including grinding, welding, and assembly would be useful but not essential
- Knowledge related to tooling setup, machine operation, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with hand tools, sheet metal handling, and basic mathematical calculations relevant to fabrication tasks.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in mechanical fabrication who are committed to producing high-quality work within a team-oriented environment.
The candidate must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in Folding.
Salary will depend on the level of skill & experience.
Shifts available:
- 7.30am to 4.45pm – Monday to Thursday & 7.30am to 12.30pm on a Friday - 40.00 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday - 06.00am - 18.00pm - 46 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday - 18.00 - 06.00 - 46 hours per week (nights)
