HEAD CHEF WANTED – Join Our Team at The George & Dragon, Much Wenlock

Are you a passionate, experienced chef looking for your next challenge? We’re looking for a talented Head Chef to join our busy and friendly team at the George & Dragon, Much Wenlock.

We are a traditional town pub, proud of serving great home-cooked food with a focus on quality, consistency, and excellent customer service.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will take responsibility for leading and managing the kitchen, including:

Leading and motivating the kitchen team
Planning and developing menus
Managing stock control and ordering
Organising rotas and staffing requirements
Maintaining high food quality and presentation standards
Ensuring kitchen cleanliness, maintenance, and compliance with health and safety regulations
Driving efficiency while maintaining a positive working environment

We’re looking for someone who:

Has significant experience in a professional kitchen environment
Is passionate about great food and hospitality
Can confidently lead and inspire a team
Is organised, reliable, and proactive
Has strong stock management and kitchen administration skills
Thrives in a busy pub environment
Brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a hands-on approach
