Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Practitioner to join our Family Safeguarding Team, working in partnership with the newly commissioned Domestic Abuse Service.

The Role

As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you will be integral to the successful delivery of the Domestic Abuse Transformation Project. You will work collaboratively to:

Provide specialist domestic abuse advice and support to the Family Safeguarding Team
Ensure the effective identification, assessment, and intervention for children and families experiencing domestic abuse
Work in partnership with the Domestic Abuse Hub and other key agencies to ensure coordinated responses to safeguarding

Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

A thorough understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on children and effective safeguarding measures
Experience in applying specialist knowledge to provide advice and guidance to colleagues
Strong partnership working skills, with the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A positive and solution-focused approach to overcoming challenges
