The Lead Teacher is responsible to the General Manager for day-to-day centre operations and the Area Swim School Lead for technical swimming advice.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Partners of Choice
Work with external stakeholders such as STA tutors to ensure the successful delivery of lessons and training courses
Attendance at Teacher Meetings and Training as required
To assist as necessary the operational duty team in furthering the successful operation of events and activities
Mentor, develop and guide your team and any newly qualified teachers
Effectively plan and lead the delivery of team huddles
Respecting the Planet
Implement all Health and Safety requirements, including all procedures in relation to fire prevention, licences, food, COSHH, heating, ventilation, L8, energy management and conservation
To carry out routine monitoring and non-specialist / basic maintenance of equipment and fittings as required, bringing to the attention of the Supervisor / Manager any faults or major repairs in line with company procedures
To work to upkeep of the grounds and facility as and when required

To ensure that the class taught is as advertised is part of the GLL Fitness Class product
To ensure all participants have registered and are booked onto the class
Responsible for the efficient and effective control of the day-to-day operations and service of events/activities, ensuring that security, general cleanliness, customer supervision and equipment checks are maintained
Report device, equipment and pool issues to duty manager

Adapt sessions as per the needs of the pupils to ensure every child progresses
To ensure attendance is captured and accurately monitor pupil progression and update pupil progress
To ensure that all equipment is used in a manner consistent with safe working practice
To ensure that equipment is fit for purpose prior to customers being allowed to make use of
To ensure the safety and control of customers within the class environment and to enforce all centres guidelines
To ensure the safety and control of customers and the public generally, and ensure that all relevant regulations applicable to the stadium’s operation are enforced and complied with
To ensure the class environment is safe before, during and after the class
Other
Act in accordance with and actively promotes all GLL policies and standards.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post’s level of responsibility or required particularly as a result of events outside of GLL’s business control (pandemics etc).
Work flexibly in line with the needs of the business at peak flow times, evenings and weekends.
Deliver critical incident management as and when required.
