dnata Catering UK are actively seeking General Assistants to join our already successful and vibrant team at London Heathrow. As a General Assistant you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our catering and goods arrive with our airline customers on time in line with various scheduling requirements.

Key Responsibilities

As a General Assistant you will be working in the following area within our business:

Production:
Plating in-flight meals (Ensure the highest standards of food presentation)
Assisting the kitchen team
Maintain standards of food safety and hygiene per legislation and other statutory requirements and company rules and policies
Maintaining a clean and safe workstation
Promote good teamwork and work in a friendly, efficient manner
Weighing and packing the products
Undertake some manual handling /bending and reaching as part of your normal job duties
Ensure production packing deadlines are met
Quality & Weight check
Using and working with Ipad

Please note your duties will include but are not limited to the above

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

To undertake this role, you must:

Previous culinary experience
Good standard of numeracy
Basic checking skills
Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
Must have high standards of personal hygiene
Fast and efficient whilst working in a fast paced and demanding kitchen
Ability to work under pressure with a high sense of urgency
A hard-working team player who is able to work both in a team and independently
Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and prioritise efficiently
Be able to handle pork and alcohol products
Be prepared to stand for long periods of time
Be prepared to work in a chilled environment
Have a basic understanding of English
