Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hiab/Beavertail Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess experience in materials handling and construction, with a strong focus on safe and efficient operation of plant equipment. Experience with excavators, forklifts, and dumper operations is highly desirable. Additional plant tickets will be considered an advantage. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to various projects requiring precise lifting and transportation of materials.

Responsibilities

Operate Hiab cranes and Beavertail lorries safely and efficiently to load and unload plant and equipment
Handle materials with precision, ensuring proper securing and placement during transport
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety standards are maintained
Support construction projects by manoeuvring heavy loads in accordance with site requirements
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics and optimise operational workflowsSkills
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues with plant equipment
Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with lorries fitted with Hiab cranes or Beavertails
Strong materials handling skills, including loading, unloading, and securing cargo
Experience operating excavators, forklifts, or other construction machinery is advantageous
Construction experience demonstrating familiarity with site safety protocols
Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and documentation processes
Additional plant tickets (such as excavator, dumper or forklift licences) are desirable but not essential; relevant certifications will be considered an asset

This role requires a dedicated professional capable of working safely in a busy environment while maintaining high standards of operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and committed to contributing positively to our team.
