Full job description

Reliable and motivated ABA (applied behaviour analysis) Therapist / Tutor/ Support Person needed ASAP to work with adult with autism on home based programme in Dorset .

£17 p/h

self employed basis

private employer - family run .

This is an exciting opportunity to gain / develop experience of supporting an autistic person on a well established home programme. Working within a private family .
You will receive comprehensive training from one of the UK’s most experienced Board Certified Behaviour Analysts .
You will be joining a small team in providing 1:1 support and tutoring to a 26 yr old man who has Autism and LD in his home and local community , within a structured programme with a focus on developing his life skills , communication , you will be a supportive companion while facilitating him in community access and leisure activities , e.g. gym , swimming , everyday activities in the community such as cafe and supermarket , trips and outings , while simultaneously supporting development and generalisation of language skills and social communication .
Previous experience is preferred but ongoing training will be provided ; your application and interview should demonstrate a clear interest in this area of work and willingness to receive the required training and close initial supervision , as well as a positive attitude , resilience and ability to work both independently and as part of a team .
The current working pattern is 9:30 am - 2:30 pm on 4 - 5 regular weekdays

This is a permanent position which may suit those with some experience in e.g. Psychology , Education , Behaviour Analysis or interest in supporting those with additional needs . You must be within easy travelling distance of Dorchester as all aspects of the job are in person. The post involves regular outings on a 2:1 support basis and we are looking for someone who has a driving licence and their own suitable transport.
