Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle MOT Tester - Class 4 to join our team on a part time bases. Hours to be negotiated.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough MOT inspections on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards and safety regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for vehicle safety to contribute to our reputable service centre.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on Class 4 vehicles in accordance with current legislation and manufacturer guidelines.
Inspect vehicle components including brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, exhaust systems, and steering mechanisms.
Utilise hand tools and power tools to carry out necessary adjustments or repairs identified during inspections.
Document test results accurately and issue certificates upon successful completion of MOTs.
Identify potential safety issues or defects and advise customers accordingly.
Maintain a clean, organised work environment adhering to health and safety standards.
Assist in vehicle preparation prior to testing and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
Keep up-to-date with changes in MOT legislation and technical standards.

Qualifications

Valid MOT Tester’s Class 4 certification recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) is essential.
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, including manoeuvring vehicles or parts.
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety compliance.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple inspections efficiently.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

This role is ideal for motivated individuals committed to maintaining high standards of vehicle safety through precise testing procedures.

Salary is dependant on hours and days worked.
