Full job description

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Workers to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes. This role is ideal for those passionate about assisting others, particularly within assisted living, senior care, and dementia care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the independence and wellbeing of clients by delivering personalised care tailored to their needs. All positions are paid, including internships, with flexible hours to accommodate various schedules.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Assist with medication administration following prescribed instructions and safety protocols
Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences
Support clients with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Provide companionship and emotional support to minimise feelings of loneliness or isolation
Assist with specialised care needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, or behaviour management
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring safe transportation
Monitor and report on clients’ health status and any changes in condition to relevant healthcare professionals
Perform first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable
Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia and Alzheimer's care
Relevant certifications such as first aid or medication administration training are advantageous
Experience in caregiving roles involving heavy lifting or mobility assistance is preferred
Valid driving licence for safe transportation of clients
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients effectively
Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience when working with vulnerable individuals
Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of care
