Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor green spaces. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture and landscape maintenance, with practical experience in gardening techniques. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work outdoors, applying your skills to create beautiful and sustainable environments. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who enjoy working with nature and possess a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Planting, watering, pruning, and fertilising plants to promote healthy growth
Using hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes for garden maintenance
Operating power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers safely and efficiently
Installing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
Conducting landscape maintenance tasks such as turf care, weed control, and soil preparation
Monitoring plant health and identifying pests or diseases for appropriate action
Assisting with seasonal planting schemes and garden redesigns
Ensuring the outdoor areas are kept tidy, safe, and visually appealing at all times

Qualifications

Proven growing experience with a solid understanding of horticultural practices
Knowledge of gardening techniques, landscape maintenance, and plant care
Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools in a safe manner
Experience with irrigation systems installation and maintenance is desirable
Strong interest in gardening, horticulture, or landscape design
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
A valid driver’s licence is advantageous but not essential
