Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing systems, safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently at heights. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction trades to develop their skills further within a professional environment.

Duties

Install new roofing systems using a variety of materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, and membranes
Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing
Measure and cut materials accurately using hand tools and power tools
Prepare roof surfaces by cleaning, removing old materials, and applying necessary underlayments or insulation
Work safely at heights by using harnesses, scaffolding, and other safety equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
Assist with related tasks such as carpentry, masonry, or minor plumbing work when required
Maintain a clean and organised worksite to promote safety and efficiency

Experience

Proven experience in roofing is essential; familiarity with various roofing materials and techniques is preferred
Knowledge of carpentry, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical experience, fabrication, or related trades is advantageous
Proficiency in the use of hand tools and power tools required for roofing tasks
Previous experience working at heights and adhering to safety standards is highly desirable
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications is beneficial
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
